We are now BuccaneerDivers.com not .com.au - BuccaneerDivers.com on the Tweed and Gold Coast was born from the enthusiasm and passion of Tweed Heads local Shannon Hunter. Having grown up in the Tweed Gold Coast region, and enjoying thousands of dives on the flourishing local reefs, including the famous Cook Island Marine Reserve and Nine Mile Reef. Shannon has also completed various Marine Science certifications to further his many qualifications in both SCUBA and Free Diving. These factors will ensure an enjoyable and knowledgeable diving experience.

We use Quality equipment, which is serviced regularly by qualified technicians-- Basically, our equipment is only as old as we are, so you can rest assured that hired equipment will not be falling off as you “take the plunge’.

We are also active participants in community projects to conserve our local waterways and marine world. Projects include river clean-ups, coastal education programs, and marine animal rescue (as part of the removesharknets.com campaign).

Whether you are a seasoned and experienced diver, or just starting out, diving (be it Free-diving or SCUBA Diving) means being transported to undersea caverns, swimming with schools of seemingly make-believe fish, exploring places that only a handful of people have laid eyes on, or weaving through shipwrecks and experiencing maritime history. Diving can take you all around the world to the earth's most stunning locations, and expand your understanding of nature's possibilities.

SHANNON HUNTER (DCSI 49054 MSDT 488295)- I grew up around the water with competitive swimming, waterpolo, and surfclub, heading under it was always the next step!! I began my SCUBA diving at 18years of age, and have never once looked back. It took me only one year to become a PADI Open Water Instructor. I then travelled to Europe and managed dive centers in Cyprus (the World famous CYDIVE) and Italy (Nautilus Dive). I obtained the level of Master SCUBA Diver Trainer (MSDT) within the PADI agency, before transferring to the level of Dive Control Specialist Instructor (DCSI) within SCUBA Schools International (SSI). I competed at the first Australian Deepwater Freediving Classic in Cairns and placed Fifth in the country, where I also held the Australian UFC record (unassisted Freediving Challenge) for 20minutes, basically you go as deep as you can on one breath with nothing but a pair of swimmers. For me, diving isn’t a job, it’s a passion. The best thing about my work is I take people on a truly life changing experience, and can educate in the worlds most enjoyable classroom.
